Sizzling Fajitas Delicious
Ready to elevate your mealtime adventure? Grab those ingredients, ignite the sizzle, and indulge in the savory symphony of flavors with homemade fajitas that will tantalize your taste buds like never before!
Ingredients
Marinade
- 2 tbsp lime juice lemon also good
- ¾ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp tequila
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground chilli
- ½ tsp paprika
- salt and peper to taste
Fajitas
- 1 kg rump steak or Chicken
- 1 red bell pepper aka capsicum
- 1 green bell pepper aka capsicum
- 1 red onion
- 3 red chillies optional
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Serving
- 8 flour tortillas
- ½ cup Salsa
- ½ cup Guacamole
- 1 cup Shredded cheese
- ½ cup Chopped cilantro aka Coriander leaf
- 6 Lime wedges
Instructions
Marinade
- In a bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, tequila, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.2 tbsp lime juice, ¾ cup olive oil, 2 tbsp tequila, 4 cloves garlic, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp ground chilli, ½ tsp paprika, salt and peper to taste
- Place the sliced chicken or steak in a resealable plastic bag or a bowl. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or preferably overnight1 kg rump steak
Fajitas
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Cook the marinated meat until it develops a nice sear and is cooked through, then remove from the pan and set aside.1 kg rump steak, 2 tbsp olive oil
- After cooking the meat, sauté onions and peppers in the same pan until they are softened. Then, add the meat back to the pan and allow everything to heat through for a few minutes. Finally, season with salt and pepper to taste.1 red bell pepper, 1 green bell pepper, 1 red onion, 3 red chillies, Salt and pepper to taste
- Warm the flour tortillas either in a dry skillet or wrapped in a damp paper towel in the microwave.8 flour tortillas
Serve
- Serve the fajita filling alongside the warmed tortillas, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, and lime wedges.½ cup Salsa, ½ cup Guacamole, 1 cup Shredded cheese, ½ cup Chopped cilantro, 6 Lime wedges
- To assemble a fajita, place a spoonful of the meat and vegetable mixture onto a tortilla. Top with your desired toppings, fold the tortilla over the filling, and enjoy!
